precancerous lesions precancerous lesions
The depicted, whitish, prominent lesions present as leukoplakia after histologic work up. Leucoplacia is a hyperkeratosis regarded as a precancerous lesion, since it has got the potential to transform into squamous carcinoma. A single prominent lesion in the upper cardia also shows typical histologic signs of a leucoplacia.
